Museum Galleries

Make your event historic!

The Manitoba Museum’s nine galleries feature immersive dioramas and sweeping recreations that will send you back in time.

Telling the story of Manitoba – first, setting the scene with our ancient past, then taking the visitor through regions from north to south – an adventure awaits your guests at every turn; observe a polar bear under the Northern Lights, walk beside a waterfall set in the Boreal Forest as a Cree family gathers food, step aboard a 17th-century life-size replica ship, or meander along the boardwalk of 1920s Winnipeg… and so much more!

Capacity:
  • Up to 1200 guests for standing receptions
  • Seated dinners for up to 40 guests.

Planetarium

Make your event stellar!

Imagine placing your corporate logos amongst the stars or seeing it planted on Mars! With Digistar® technology, the universe is available to explore in any given location through live presentations. Enjoy shows from our selection of available presentations or let us customise a presentation for you. 

Live speaker presentations, delivered from the built-in stage, can be projected on the dome for all to see. Make your event shine in the comfort of the Planetarium Theatre.

Science Gallery

Make your event fun!

Engage your guests by having them test out the universal laws of science and explore the wonders of technology and illusion.

Whether your guests face building challenges with LEGO® bricks, saving Lake Winnipeg through a state-of-the-art game simulation or building and racing a race car – it’s undeniable that hands-on learning is fun for everyone!

Alloway Hall

Magnificent state-of-the-art Alloway Hall offers 9,750 square feet of quality event space.

Your guests will be wowed with the natural lighting and beautiful view of the Steinkopf Gardens next to the modernist architecture of the Centennial Concert Hall.

Capacity: 
  • Dinner for 500 guests
  • Receptions for 600 guests
  • Theater-style seating for up to 500 guests.

  • Two ceiling heights: 13 feet and 26 feet
  • Wi-Fi and/or Ethernet access
  • Built-in LED “light wash” options for all walls (controls available by colour and customized by quadrant)

Festival Hall

The perfect spaces for your next event! Festival Hall’s 6000 square foot venue is a wonderful space for meetings, networking events, receptions, or weddings.

Recently renovated, this space offers floor to ceiling windows on both the north and south wall, offering great views of Main Street and our own Planetarium dome on the plaza.

Nonsuch & HBC Museum Collection Galleries

Stroll the waterfront of 17th-century England, where the two-masted ketch, Nonsuch, awaits high tide and a voyage into history. In 1668, the original Nonsuch sailed into Hudson Bay in search of furs. Built in England to celebrate the tricentennial of the Hudson’s Bay Company in 1970, the Nonsuch is considered one of the finest replicas in the world, and sailed 14,000 kilometres of salt and fresh water before finding a home at the Museum.

Auditorium

The Auditorium is handsomely lined with wood panelling and has a separate stage entry and green room access. Built-in projector and sound system allows for an easy set-up. Space in the concourse is available for registration tables.
