Thank you for your interest in Manitoba Museum Memberships! This page contains a selection of frequently asked questions pertaining to Memberships.

Please note: Members are encouraged to reserve their FREE members tickets to Planetarium shows online or at the Box Office in advance. Members who show up at the Planetarium entrance without reserved tickets will not be guaranteed a spot for the Planetarium show.

How do I become a member of the Manitoba Museum?

You can join by buying your membership online, by visiting the Box Office, or by contacting the membership office at 204-998-0647.

I paid general admission and now want to become a Member. Can I apply my admission purchase towards my Membership purchase?

Yes! The cost of your general admission tickets can be applied towards a Manitoba Museum Membership. Please bring in your admission tickets and receipt to the Box Office within two weeks of purchase.

Admission to any of our temporary exhibitions or special programs/events cannot be included in the admission to membership upgrade.

How long is a Manitoba Museum Membership valid?

All Manitoba Museum Memberships are annual, and are valid until the end of the month one year after the date of purchase.

For example: A Membership purchased on November 10, 2022 will be valid until November 30, 2023.

How did the Museum’s temporary closure in Winter 2021/22 affect my Membership?

Due to the Museum’s temporary closure from December 26, 2021 to February 2, 2022, Memberships active during this period have been extended for an additional two months.

How can I renew my Membership?

We’re so glad you’d like to continue supporting our work at the Manitoba Museum with your Membership! There are four ways to renew your membership:

  • Log in to your account online*
  • Visit the Box Office

  • Mail a cheque with your renewal application form to:

Can I gift someone a Manitoba Museum Membership?

Yes! Give the gift of adventure. Fun and learning collide at the Manitoba Museum, where Members enjoy unlimited general admission to the Museum Galleries, Planetarium, and Science Gallery!

Gift Memberships can be purchased online, at the Box Office, or by calling our Membership Office at 204-988-0647. Gift Memberships are not activated at the time of purchase, the recipient must present the gift voucher at the Box Office during their next visit.

Memberships are processed and prepared for shipping within five business days. Please allow Canada Post additional time to deliver your purchase.

Gift memberships are non-transferable and non-refundable.

When will I receive my Membership card(s)?

If you purchase your Membership in person at the Box Office, you will receive your Membership card(s) immediately.

If you purchase your Membership online, you can either pick up your Membership card(s) at the Box Office during your next visit, or choose to have your card(s) mailed to you.

I never received my Membership card(s). Who should I contact?

As a Member, do I need to wait in line for a ticket to the Museum?

Members are encouraged to reserve their FREE Members tickets to Planetarium shows online or at the Box Office in advance. Members who show up at the Planetarium entrance without reserved tickets will not be guaranteed a spot for the Planetarium show.

Members can enjoy express entry into the Museum Galleries and Science Gallery without waiting in line at the Box Office. Membership cards must be presented to the staff member at each area entrance and photo identification may also be requested at the point of entry. For temporary exhibitions and public programs, Members will have the option to purchase Member-priced admission to the exhibition online or at the Box Office.

How can I use my Manitoba Museum Membership to visit other science centres and museums across Canada?

Manitoba Museum Members receive free or discounted admission to 30+ science centres and museums across Canada through the Canadian Association of Science Centres (CASC) and Alliance of Natural History Museums of Canada (ANHMC) reciprocal agreements! Members must live more than 150 km from the centre they wish to visit in order to receive free or discounted admission.

Please show the welcome letter you received when purchasing or renewing your Membership as proof of valid Membership along with your Manitoba Museum Member card(s) when visiting other science centres and museums across Canada. You may also be asked for photo identification and proof of address.

If you have lost or misplaced your Membership welcome letter, please contact the Membership Office at [email protected] to have a new letter emailed to you.

Is entry to temporary exhibitions included with my Membership?

No, temporary exhibitions are not included in the price of a Membership. Members can take advantage of our discounted temporary exhibition rates by buying tickets online or by visiting the Box Office.

How do I access discounted Member tickets online?

To access discounted Member tickets online, Members must log in with an email address linked to your active Membership. If you are unsure if an email address is linked to your Membership, please review How To Set Up An Online Membership Account, or contact the Membership Office at 204-988-0647.

How do Organization Memberships work?

An Organization Membership includes eight Membership cards addressed to the name of the business (for-profit or non-profit). Membership cards can be distributed to the business staff or clients as the business sees fit.

Individuals visiting under an Organization Membership must be in possession of a valid Manitoba Museum Membership card (1 card per visitor) to gain entry to the Museum Galleries, Planetarium, or Science Gallery, and/or to be eligible for Member rates to temporary exhibitions.

How can I update my Member profile contact information?

To update your contact information so you can continue to receive information about upcoming programs and events, please visit the Box Office, or contact the Membership Office at 204-988-0647 or [email protected].

Can I get a refund on my Membership?

No, Manitoba Museum Memberships are non-refundable.

Can someone else use my Membership?

No, Manitoba Museum Memberships (not including Organization Memberships) are non-transferable. Only the individual whose name appears on the Membership card is entitled to Member benefits.

My Membership card was lost/stolen, how do I replace it?

To replace your Membership card(s), please visit the box office. A card replacement fee of $3.00 applies for each lost or stolen card.
