Morgan Brightnose is Ininiwak (Cree) and Metis from Thompson, Manitoba and is a member of the Tataskewyak Cree Nation. He is currently a PhD Candidate at the University of Manitoba in History, his research centres Indigenous student activism and the Treaty Right to education. For the past five years he has been working at the Treaty and Aboriginal Rights Research Centre of Manitoba, both as a historical researcher and, more recently, as Research Co-Director. He brings a wealth of historical knowledge related to Treaties, land rights, historic land use, and Indigenous activism. He is excited to join the team at the Manitoba Museum to enhance the interpretation of the Indigenous Collections and continue fostering community engagement, repatriation and accessible history.
