Current Volunteer Opportunities

Here are the volunteer positions we have available for those 14 and up at The Manitoba Museum over the coming months. Training is provided for each position.

HOCKEY EXHIBIT HOST

Join our All Star team of volunteers assisting on our new exhibit Hockey:  The Stories Behind Our Passion - encourage visitors to try on vintage hockey equipment, challenge them with an NHL logo quiz, or coach family friendly activities and crafts. (WEEKDAYS, WEEKENDS AND FRIDAY EVENINGS IN JULY AND AUGUST )

MUSEUM GREETERS

We are looking for volunteer greeters to assist with the crowds visiting the Museum by answering questions and giving directions. If you like talking to people and have some free time on weekends this could be the perfect role for you!(CURRENT OPENINGS ON WEEKENDS)

MUSEUM SHOP ASSISTANT

Acquire valuable retail experience while you help our visitors discover the unique shopping opportunities at The Museum Shop. (CURRENT OPENINGS ON SELECT WEEKDAYS, INCLUDING FRIDAY EVENINGS  AND WEEKENDS)

EDUCATION PROGRAM GUIDE

Lead groups of school children through structured human and natural history tours. We are looking for volunteers who are comfortable leading tours in English only, or in both French and English. Volunteers are required to make a school-year commitment to this program. (WEEKDAYS ONLY)

GALLERY HOST

Do you have a favorite Museum Gallery? Share your knowledge of this gallery with visitors as they make their way through on a visit. Gallery Host positions are flexible and can be done on shorter shifts, making them a perfect option for volunteers with less time available. (WEEKDAYS AND WEEKENDS)

NONSUCH GUIDE

Help Museum visitors experience what life was like aboard a 17th century sailing vessel through hands-on interpretation of the Fur Trade and the important role the Nonsuch played. (WEEKDAYS, INCLUDING FRIDAY EVENINGS AND WEEKENDS)

GALLERY INTERPRETER

Share interesting Human and Natural History facts, artifacts and specimens with our visitors as a Museum Ranger or using our Interpretation Stations. (WEEKDAYS AND WEEKENDS)

SCIENCE GALLERY EXPLAINER

Share your interest in science with our visitors in the Science Gallery by helping visitors with the hands-on exhibits. (CURRENT OPENINGS ON SELECT WEEKDAYS ONLY)
