Celebrate Valentine’s Day with an unforgettable evening rooted in Indigenous art, stories, and teachings. Centred on Anishinaabe strawberry knowledge, this exclusive after-hours paint event blends creativity, culture, and connection for a truly one-of-a-kind experience. This event is meant for anyone who wants to celebrate love in its many forms. Whether you come with a partner, your best friend, your mother or daughter, or someone who simply brings joy to your life, this event welcomes all relationships and all ways of loving.
Your evening begins with a special behind-the-scenes viewing of works by Norval Morrisseau, alongside Indigenous ancestral belongings – moccasins, beadwork, and other items whose designs speak to love and kinship. A short gallery tour will further highlight paintings by Norval Morrisseau and Daphne Odjig. Guests will then take part in a strawberry-inspired paint night guided by acclaimed artist Dawn Chartrand, accompanied by a special guest sharing Anishinaabe strawberry teachings. Together, they’ll explore themes of love, connection to the land, and the meaning of Ode’imin – the heart berry.
Each ticket includes access to a delicious charcuterie grazing table by Indigenous woman-owned Sharecuterie, as well as a strawberry mocktail crafted especially for the evening.
This culturally rich Valentine’s experience is offered only once, and space is limited.
General admission for this event is sold out.
Thanks to the generosity of donors from our Bead-A-Thon fundraiser, we’re able to offer 10 Community Support Spots at a reduced rate of $75 per person. These spots help ensure that those who may face financial barriers can still participate in this special evening.
