Join us on the First Friday of every month from 4 pm to 9 pm for free general admission to our three core attractions – the Museum Galleries, Planetarium, and Science Gallery. No ticket is required for First Friday programming unless otherwise specified.

Celebrate 2SLGBTQ+ History Month with a visit to Manitoba Museum
If These Walls Could Talk: 50 years of 2SLGBTQ+ Activism in Winnipeg
Urban Corridor, Museum Galleries – 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm
If These Walls Could Talk, an exhibition in the Urban Corridor was produced in partnership with the Rainbow Resource Centre, explores the history of the 2SLGBTQ+ community in Winnipeg from 1970 until the 2010s. This period of activism after the decriminalization of homosexuality in 1969 covers campaigns such as coming out (1970s), HIV/AIDS information (1980s), marriage and adoption rights (1990s and 2000s), protection for gender diversity (2010s), and more.
Film Screening: Rainbow Resource Centre’s 50th Anniversary Documentary
Winnipeg Gallery Theatre, Museum Galleries – 4 to 9 pm. 24 minute run time, alternating with the Winnipeg Timeline Film
October is 2SLGBTQ+ History Month. To honour this occasion, we’ll be showing the full-length Rainbow Resource Centre’s 50th Anniversary Documentary from the If These Walls Could Talk exhibit in the comfort of the Winnipeg Gallery Theatre.

Hands-on Fun in the Science Gallery
Science Gallery – 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm
Test the universal laws of science and explore the wonders of technology and illusion in the Science Gallery. Learn about yourself and the world around you through entertaining hands-on activities where you become the scientist. Check out fan favourites such as the Matrix (mirror room), the pulley chairs, and the racetrack!
GUEST SCIENTISTS: Living Laboratory
Explore Science Zone – 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm
Ever wondered how children’s minds work? Visit University of Manitoba researchers at their Living Laboratory in the Science Gallery. The Living Laboratory is an educational research experience where visitors of all ages can learn about the development of the human mind by participating in fun hands-on research studies and games.
Planetarium Schedule
Shows run every half hour beginning at 4:30 pm. Last show at 8:30 pm.
