Dinosaurs: A Story of Survival
(for All Ages)

Did you know that not all the dinosaurs went extinct?

This fun, family-friendly Planetarium show is an exciting journey through time to discover the incredible variety of dinosaurs that ruled our planet’s past. Celeste, a young girl fascinated by dinosaurs, travels with her wise and magical friend Moon on an amazing adventure and learns that not all dinosaurs went extinct…

Live in the Sky:
(for All Ages)

Take a guided tour of Manitoba’s night sky. This live show highlights the constellations, planets, and celestial events that you can see on clear evenings, and answers your space questions.

Pop-Up on the Plaza: Royal Astronomical Society of Canada

See the Moon up close through a telescope, and safely view the Sun! Volunteers from the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada’s Winnipeg Centre will be on hand around the Planetarium dome on the Museum Plaza from 5:00 pm until 9:00 pm.

Weather permitting – in case of clouds, this activity will be cancelled.

Hands-on Fun in the Science Gallery

Test the universal laws of science and explore the wonders of technology and illusion in Science Gallery. Learn about yourself and the world around you through entertaining hands-on activities where you become the scientist. Check out fan favourites such as the Matrix (mirror room), the pulley chairs, and the race track!

Science Gallery, 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm

Oceans ALIVE! in the Explore Science Zone

Dive into this hands-on workshop, developed by the Canadian Museum of Nature and Ingenium to promote the importance of aquatic health throughout Canada. Visitors will have the opportunity to program a RiverBot (line tracking robot) to gobble up plastic garbage in a river; use handheld microscopes to investigate aquatic organisms and microplastics samples up close; and then test their knowledge with our water trivia game.
