Hosted by Planetarium astronomer Scott Young, Dome@Home brings the wonders of the universe to anyone with an internet connection. The show’s content focuses on all of the celestial sights and special events that viewers can see over the next month.
Next show: Thursday, September 26, 2024 @ 7:00 pm (Central Time)
Join Planetarium Astronomer Scott Young, as he navigates the various predictions for what could be “the comet of the century”… or just a faint blob. Comet Tsuchinshan-ATLAS passes between the Sun and the Earth in early October and could become visible to the unaided eye in the evening sky by mid-month, if predictions are correct. Unfortunately, comets are notoriously difficult to predict where their brightness is concerned.
In this month’s Dome@Home, we’ll look at this first-time visitor to the inner solar system, and see when and where Manitobans will get their best views. Plus, we’ll check out some autumn constellations and other cool space stuff!
