Language Revitalization in the Classroom
Bring Indigenous language learning into your classroom with Anishinaabemowin with Amik. This FREE, online language game created by the Manitoba Museum invites students of all ages and backgrounds to learn the names of 21 animals native to Manitoba in Anishinaabemowin. By incorporating Anishinaabemowin with Amik into your teaching, you’ll provide your students with a meaningful experience that aligns with language revitalization and uplifts Indigenous voices.
Learn the names of these animals in Anishinaabemowin, so that on your next visit to the Manitoba Museum, you can say “makwa” when you see a bear or “mashkode bizhiki” when you spot the bison.
Thank you to Canada Life and all of our school programs supporters.
