SUMMARY:Welcome Home\, Jeremy! Artemis II Splashdown Watch Party
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a special in-person Dome@Home event as we tune in to the live broadcast of the Artemis II return to Earth! \nJoin in-person or via live-stream on Friday\, April 10 from 6:00 to 8:30 pm to welcome back Canadian Space Agency Astronaut Jeremy Hansen and his Artemis II crewmates as they make their landing in the Pacific Ocean. In person we will be tuning in from the Manitoba Museum Auditorium\, and the live-stream will be available on our Facebook and YouTube channels. The event begins at 6:00 pm CDT\, with splashdown scheduled for 7:07 pm CDT. The event is free but seating is first-come\, first-served. \nThe Artemis II mission\, years in preparation\, launched last week with three American Astronauts and Canadian Astronaut Jeremy Hansen aboard. This past Monday they completed their lunar fly-by\, observing rare and never-before-seen views of the far side of the Moon as well as a solar eclipse. DESCRIPTION:Join us for a live-streamed Artemis II Launch Party! The Artemis II mission\, years in preparation\, is currently set to launch on Wednesday April 1\, from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. Aboard will be three American Astronauts and Canadian Astronaut Jeremy Hansen. If the launch proceeds as scheduled\, the live-stream event will begin at 3:00 pm CDT on Wednesday\, April 1\, with launch expected at 5:24 pm CDT . However\, the launch window is two hours long\, and so if there are delays the launch might occur as late as 7:24 pm CDT. \nAs of Monday\, March 30 2:37 pm CDT\, the countdown is on! The nearly-50-hour process of preparing the rocket for launch\, loading the crew\, and finally launching begins at 3:44 pm CDT Monday. \nSince this is the first crewed launch of a new rocket and spacecraft\, though\, that is a big “if”.
