SUMMARY:Author's Talk: The Paper Trail to the 1923 Chinese Exclusion Act
DESCRIPTION:Manitoba Museum Auditorium\nFree Admission \nAs part of the opening of special exhibition The Paper Trail to the 1923 Chinese Exclusion Act\, award-winning curator and author Catherine Clement will present a talk on the landmark book that brings this history to life. \nExpanding beyond the exhibition\, the book The Paper Trail to the 1923 Chinese Exclusion Act delves deeper into the human experiences of the exclusion years. SUMMARY:International Day of Pink ECHO Tour
DESCRIPTION:Auditorium \nWe are pleased to be a stop on the International Day of Pink’s ECHO Tour\, as they travel across Canada\, bringing together powerful storytellers\, poets\, activists\, and community leaders to share the 2SLGBTQIA+ stories that once faced censorship—and still fight for space today. \n \nFrom courtrooms to bookstores\, family tables to federal law\, queer and trans voices have always resisted silence. This tour honours that resistance\, marking 25 years since the Supreme Court case Little Sisters Bookstore v. Canada and the passing of the Modernization of Benefits and Obligations Act. But this tour is not just about the past—it’s about the stories still echoing now. Stories that shape who we are and where we go next. \nThe featured speakers at the Winnipeg stop are Adrienne Rosen\, Libby Davies\, and James Lawrence. \n  \n  \n  \n  \nThanks to our partnership with the International Day of Pink\, this is a FREE event. \nClick here to get your free tickets \nPlease note that tickets to this event do not include general admission to the Manitoba Museum. \n  \n  \n \n  \n  \n  \n  \nThe ECHO Tour is supported by Air Canada\, Government of Canada\, Scotiabank\, and Via Rail. \n
