Special Projects

The Manitoba Museum is the province’s largest non-profit heritage and science centre. We are renowned for our vivid portrayal of Manitoba’s rich and colourful history, Planetarium shows, and Science Gallery exhibits.

When you donate to the Manitoba Museum, you can designate your donation to help fund any one of our four programs.
mm_solutions_bannerThe H2O Solution project is the very first integration of virtual reality/video simulation technology and pure water science in Canada. A totally new type of museum exhibit and online adventure, it is a one-of-a-kind experience where visitors’ imaginations, intelligence and ingenuity meet the realm of sustainable development. The setting for The H2O Solution showcases one of the 10 largest freshwater lakes in the world – Lake Winnipeg – and its Basin, which spans four provinces and four US states.

mm_alloway_bannerThe Manitoba Museum has embarked on one of the most challenging, exciting and important exhibition projects since its inception; a project that will enable the Museum to “bring the world to Winnipeg” through a four-year program of international travelling exhibits. Our goal is to simultaneously:

  • Address the public’s ever increasing appetite for access to major travelling exhibits, thereby fulfilling their desire to experience something “new” at the Museum, and
  • Create a financially sustainable model for the presentation of international travelling exhibits, thereby enhancing our mandate and relevance.

mm_nonsuch_bannerThe Nonsuch needs your help. Help us conserve its legacy.

In our efforts to preserve collections for future generations, Nonsuch Conservation is an ongoing task where conservators fight a daily battle against dust, excess light, climate extremes, vandalism, gravity shifts, and pests of all kinds. The need to conserve this internationally revered artifact is critical.
