Lots has changed at the Manitoba Museum! Join us for a virtual tour with Anya, our Learning & Engagement Supervisor, as she takes us on a tour through our recently updated galleries. We’ll visit the new Prairies Gallery, featuring stories of Manitoba’s vast grasslands, and the new Winnipeg Gallery, exploring historic and contemporary urban life.

LIVE from the Science Gallery: Static and Ice!

What better way to celebrate the Winter Break then with jaw-dropping experiments about two common elements of the season: static electricity and freezing temperatures.
 
Ever wonder why you get a ZAAAP when you walk across the carpet, or take off a sweater in the winter? It’s SCIENCE! And we’ll show you why it happens in ways guaranteed to shock you! And if you think it’s cold outside, we’ve got something even colder… liquid nitrogen. You’ll get chills as we freeze objects faster and colder than your nose on a frosty Manitoba night!

Northern Brassworks Video Premier:  Music for Trumpet Ensemble

We are pleased to present the premier of a recording of a concert done as part of our Northern Brassworks series. This program features music for trumpet ensemble: four quartets and one duet.

The Northern Brassworks project was made possible with assistance from a University of Manitoba Creative Works Grant, to encourage the creation and performance of chamber music for brass, primarily by Manitoba composers and performers.
