Without a rudder a ship cannot turn! The fact that the rudder post is behind the mizzen mast is what distinguishes a ketch from a similar two-masted yawl. The rudder on the Nonsuch was put to good use during her travels down the Atlantic coast of North America, tour of the Great Lakes, and her stint on the West coast before coming to rest here at the museum. Adopt the rudder today and help support our conservation efforts.
