Product Description
The Passenger Pigeon has been extinct since the early 1900’s when over-hunting and habitat loss led to their ultimate demise. This species once migrated throughout North America in enormous flocks, with numbers estimated in the tens of millions. This beautiful Passenger Pigeon specimen was collected at Winnipegosis, Manitoba in 1898 – the last specimen collected in Canada. It is one of only five housed in the Manitoba Museum’s permanent Scientific Collections.
