Product Description

This Red Pipestone or Catlinite tablet with incised images was found in a field in 1926 just south of Ochre River Manitoba, north of Riding Mountain National Park. The tablet dates to the 1700s and was likely used for ceremonial purposes. Incised images include a large Thunderbird with associated lightning bolts coming from the wings, overtop of a bear. The reverse side includes a rider on a horse, a bird, snake and other anthropomorphic figures.
