MANITOBA MUSEUM OFFERS STAYCATION EXPLORATION FOR $7 ADMISSION

MANITOBA MUSEUM OFFERS
STAYCATION EXPLORATION FOR $7 ADMISSION

(Winnipeg, MB, June 29, 2020):  Throughout the month of July, the Manitoba Museum offers discovery and exploration for only $7 per person. Visitors can make reconnecting with Manitoba’s history and nature a part of their summer 2020 staycation. The Museum Galleries will be open Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays in July from 11 am to 5 pm. However, the Science Gallery and Planetarium will remain closed.

Procedures are in place to ensure public safety. Visitors enter and exit through the one entrance at 190 Rupert Avenue. Everyone is asked to self-screen for COVID-19 symptoms before arriving at the Museum and to postpone their visit if they are experiencing any symptoms, have traveled recently, or have come in contact with someone sick with COVID-19.

Visitors are encouraged to use touchless payment or purchase tickets online and to download a digital Visitor Map to guide their Museum exploration as paper maps will not be available.

Physical distancing is encouraged with floor markers and signage. High-touch and interactive exhibit elements in the Museum Galleries are not accessible to limit contact. Museum team members have implemented increased cleaning and sanitization practices and hand sanitizer stations are available for visitors throughout the building.

Visitors will not be able to board the 17th-century ship, Nonsuch, as she is an artifact which requires special care and sanitizing efforts would damage this Museum gem.

For more information about preparing for a visit to the Museum and a complete list of protocols, visitors are encouraged to go to the Plan My Visit page on the Manitoba Museum website.
