MANITOBA MUSEUM CREATES NEW LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES

Winnipeg, MB (September 30, 2020):  The Manitoba Museum will launch a brand new Virtual Field Trip program on October 1, offering valuable learning resources to schools, educational groups, parents, and those learning from home. Discover Manitoba’s history, nature, and science from anywhere in Manitoba, and beyond.

Virtual Field Trips offer an opportunity to explore the Manitoba Museum in an interactive presentation with expert Learning Facilitators and Science Communicators. These new virtual curriculum-connected programs engage students in different ways – polls and chats; up-close examinations of real Museum artifacts, specimens, and exhibitions; and live streamed tours in the Museum Galleries or the Planetarium’s night sky.

Teachers, parents, and educators will be provided with pre-presentation resources to prepare students for their Virtual Field Trip experience and activate their learning. They will also be given post-presentation resources after the program.

The Museum continues to offer on-site guided and self-guided school visits in the Museum Galleries and Planetarium. Adjustments have been made to on-site experiences for the health and well-being of the community.

Interested educators are encouraged to contact the Museum’s Reservations Coordinator at either [email protected] or 204-988-0626 for more information or to discuss Virtual Field Trip options for classes, groups, and families.
