Kids Think BIG at Manitoba Museum Summer Day Camps

Winnipeg, MB (June 28, 2017): Kids get to Think BIG with World’s Giant Dinosaurs  at Manitoba Museum week-long Summer Day Camps, which start the week of July 10. And, new this year, one-day camps provide an exciting Rocket Camp where your child will build and take home an ESTES flying rocket model.

There are still spaces available, but register right away, as spots are limited.
Kids will enjoy a variety of adventures at Museum Summer Day Camps including:

  • a visit to the NEW World’s Giant Dinosaurs where they will play in the fossil dig pit;
  • an exploration of Manitoba through nine Museum Galleries;
  • hands-on fun in the Science Gallery;
  • a chance to explore the Universe in the Planetarium;
  • and... they will enjoy exciting field trips (includes splash pad, and other downtown attractions).

Choose week 1 or week 2, or sign up for both so your kids won`t miss a thing!

Week 1:  Prepare for the dino-mighty Worlds Giant Dinosaurs where you get to dig for fossils. Explore the Museum to learn about the amazing animals of Manitoba’s diverse ecosystems. Go on an Arctic adventure and find out about life in northern Canada through activities such as soapstone carving. Discover how to help protect the Earth and live sustainably through hands-on science experiments.

Week 2:  Become a junior paleontologist in the new World's Giant Dinosaurs exhibit! Time travel to the days of the fur trade, and prepare for an adventure on land and sea. Celebrate Canada 150 by discovering the diversity of Winnipeg through food, music and games. Take off into space and explore the solar system, then travel the globe to learn about technology and inventions, old and new.

All day camps are staffed with an 8:1 camper-leader ratio ensuring all kids receive terrific attention and supervision. The cost for Museum Members is $198 and $218 for non-members. Families can also take advantage of the siblings discount when sending more than one child to camp.

One-Day Rocket Camp:  The Manitoba Museum is offering one-day space camps on August 8, 9, 10 & 11. Kids will spend a day exploring how rockets work and build flying model rockets in this NEW program for kids aged 9 to 12. Rockets will be launched at a special event on Saturday, August 12 (optional). The one-day camp costs $80 per child or $70 with a Museum Membership and includes all supplies as well as a take-home ESTES flying model rocket.
