Explore the Manitoba Museum from home with our Virtual Field Trips. With a new theme every session, these online programs are perfect for home learners looking for a fun, curriculum-based experience, for friends looking for an interactive way to spend time together at a distance, and for just about anyone interested in learning more about Manitoba! All welcome.
The Sky Tonight
The Sky Tonight takes you on a virtual guided tour of the night sky. See stars, northern lights, and meteors, find constellations, explore the Moon and planets, and ask our sky scientists all of your space-related questions. Discover how the sky moves and changes over time, and how humans have tried to understand our place in the universe.
This program is targeted at the curriculum for grades 5, 6, and 8; for example, you will learn to identify points of reference in the night sky, differentiate between astronomy and astrology, and learn how the Sun is the centre of the solar system.
TEACHERS: Interested in booking this program for your class? Contact our Reservations Coordinator at 204-988-9626 or email [email protected]. Or, submit a Virtual Field Trip Booking Request Form.
