Museum Babies: November

November 21 @ 9:30 am - 11:00 am

|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every week that begins at 9:30am on Thursday, repeating until November 28, 2019

A 4-Week Sensory Program for
Babies & Their Adults

$78 for all 4 weeks / $68 for Members
$22 to drop in for one or more weeks

Pre-registration is required to attend.

An infant’s social understanding starts at home and expands as they explore the world. These interactions significantly influence how and what children learn.

This program helps Museum Babies shape their knowledge and understanding of the world through sensory experiences, play, and exploration. Museum Babies learn by interacting with and manipulating objects from the Museum’s Education Collection.

Museum Babies focus on different themes when they visit each week, enjoying hands-on activities, creating take-home crafts, and singing songs and nursery rhymes. After the program, everyone is welcome to explore the Museum Galleries for as long as they like.

Time: 9:30 am – 11 am

November 7 – PLAY: Museum Babies explore our collection of historical toys, developing imagination, concentration, self-confidence, and sociability skills

November 14 – ANIMALS: Sold Out – A whole new world of wonder opens up as Museum Babies encounter animals from our collection.

November 21 –  SOUNDS: Museum Babies take in information about the world around them experiencing everyday noises and sounds found in nature.

November 28 – COLOURS: Sold Out – Colour captures the attention of Museum Babies as they discover some of the most treasured, brightly decorated items in our collection.

Each visit includes some classroom time where we sing songs and do hands-on activities, as well as Museum Gallery sensory experiences.

Though this program is designed for babies aged 6 to 12 months (sitting but pre-walking stage), walking babies are also encouraged to participate.

For information or to register, please contact Corinne Antoniuk: cantoniuk@manitobamuseum.ca /204-988-0671.
