Virtual Field Trip: Exploring the Universe

November 17, 2020 @ 10:00 am - 10:45 am

Explore the Manitoba Museum from home with our Virtual Field Trips. With a new theme every session, these online programs are perfect for home learners looking for a fun, curriculum-based experience, for friends looking for an interactive way to spend time together at a distance, and for just about anyone interested in learning more about Manitoba! All welcome.

Exploring the Universe

Exploring the Universe examines some of the big questions in science: Where did the universe come from? What is it made of? How do we know what we know? How has our understanding changed throughout human history? We’ll use the Planetarium’s DIGISTAR software to explore the planets and stars, visit distance galaxies, and use Canadian technology to see the universe in a different light.

This program is geared towards the grade 9 curriculum; for example, participants will compare and contract different historical perspectives on the relationship between Earth and space, and learn to differentiate between the major components of the universe.

TEACHERS: Interested in booking this program for your class? Contact our Reservations Coordinator at 204-988-9626 or email [email protected]. Or, submit a Virtual Field Trip Booking Request Form.
