Virtual Field Trip:  Exploring the Fur Trade

May 26, 2020 @ 10:00 am - 10:30 am

Virtual Field Trip:  Exploring the Fur Trade

Tuesday, May 26 • 10:00 am – 10:30 am

This Zoom webinar date is sold out, but still available for viewing via Facebook Live.

See additional dates below to register your students for a live interactive Virtual Field Trip or watch it streamed live on the Manitoba Museum Facebook page at 10:00 on May 26.  If you have questions about booking your class, please contact Anya [email protected]

This program introduces students to the big picture of the fur trade. We will investigate the different roles of those involved in the fur trade (e.g. trappers and traders) and the development of fur trading companies. Students will learn how a trading post worked and uncover some of the technologies, objects, and ideas traded between Europeans and First Nations people.

This program is geared towards grade 4 and 5 students, but all are welcome.

Register here to participate in this FREE interactive Zoom webinar https://www.eventbrite.com/e/105565860330

As a participant you will be able to see and hear the presenter, but they will not be able to see and hear you.  Instead, webinar participants will be invited to interact with the presenter using the anonymous chat and by answering questions by poll.  Instructions for connecting will be sent to you by email.  Registration may not guarantee a spot.

This presentation will also be streamed live on the Manitoba Museum Facebook page, and a recording of the presentation will be available for sharing on YouTube after the fact.

The Manitoba Museum would like to thank Canada Life for their support of the Virtual Field Trip program.
