VIRTUAL ASTRONOMY SEMINAR: CHASING THE NORTHERN LIGHTS

This ZOOM workshop will provide you with the skills to track down the elusive northern lights. You’ll learn how and why the lights appear, and where and when to go to see them.

Other topics covered include:

  • Apps and alerts – how to know when to go
  • Good observing locations and etiquette
  • How to take images of the aurora with smartphones or DSLR cameras
  • Winter observing tips – how to live through a Manitoba winter night
  • Question time – ask our astronomer your aurora questions

Admission to the workshop is $15 per device connection, or $10 for Manitoba Museum members.

Advance registration is required. Multiple people from the same household can share the connection from a single device.

This 90-minute workshop will be held via Zoom as a virtual webinar. A computer and internet connection will be required to participate.

The Zoom link will be sent to you with your ticket confirmation.
