Telescopes 101

February 22, 2017 @ 7:00 pm - 9:30 pm

$30
The Planetarium

Wednesday evening February 22nd from 7-9:30pm in the Planetarium at the Manitoba Museum

Have you always wanted to purchase a telescope, but the terminology intimidates you? Or do you own a telescope already, but it sits in your basement collecting dust because you don’t know how to point it? Join Planetarium astronomers as they take you through the basics of how a telescope works, what you should consider when purchasing one, and how and where to point it in the night sky. You do not need a telescope to take this class, but those who do have one are encouraged to bring them!

Registration is now open the Winter 2017 session of Telescopes 101.  The cost for the one-night Telescopes 101 class is $30 per person ($25 for Museum members).

We also offer a five-night Eyes to the Skies course for $125 per person ($100 for members). Register for both courses for only $150 per person ($120 for members). Refreshments will be served.

Both courses have a maximum of 25 participants so register early to avoid disappointment!

For more information, contact instructor Mike Jensen at [email protected] or you can register for these courses by contacting our Registration Coordinator at 204-988-0626 or email [email protected].

NOTE: The Manitoba Museum reserves the right to cancel the courses due to low registrations. Prices may change without notice.
