In the Planetarium

Premiering March 22 and running throughout Spring Break is our newest Planetarium show, The Enchanted Reef! When their home reef is destroyed by a fishing trawler, three brave fish set out on a quest across the polluted ocean to find the “Enchanted Reef” — a legendary pristine haven under the sea. Full of humour and imagination, this film for the whole family is an undersea adventure that raises awareness about the impact of pollution on our oceans.

Investigate Aquatic Animals
Daily, 10:30 am to 4:30 pm
Programming space in the Parklands Gallery
Visit the Parklands Gallery, where our staff will show you some incredible aquatic animal specimens from Manitoba and beyond! You’ll be able to see and touch a diverse array of shells, bones, furs, and fossils as you discover the amazing adaptations that help these animals live and thrive in lakes, ponds, rivers, and oceans throughout the world.
Try folding a jumping origami frog, make a fishy crayon rubbing, and see a duck-billed platypus!
H₂WOAH! Science Demonstrations
Daily, 11:15 am, 1:45 pm, and 3:00 pm
Concourse Auditorium
Take a deep dive into the wacky wonders of water, a substance we often take for granted in our daily lives. Water has very strong surface tension – a property that keeps you dry under an umbrella, gives soap the ability to keep your hands clean, and allows some insects to literally walk on water!
Join us this Spring Break for some awesome H2O science experiments, conducted live by our Science Communicators. Watch as they create brilliant bubbles, stick objects together just by using water, and challenge volunteers to see how many water drops can fit on a nickel. We guarantee you’ll be saying “H2WOAH!” in amazement by the time it’s over!
Seating is limited and first-come, first-served. H2WOAH! is free with paid admission to any of the Museum’s venues, or with a Museum Membership.
