Manitoba Museum Annual General Meeting

June 22 @ 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm

The Annual General Meeting of the membership of the Manitoba Museum will be held at 5:30 pm on Thursday, June 22, 2023 in Festival Hall, The Manitoba Museum, 190 Rupert Avenue for the following purposes:

  1. Receiving the report of the Chairperson and Treasurer and of the auditor or auditors, and other such reports as the Board may indicate,
  2. Electing Governors,
  3. Appointing auditors and fixing their remuneration,
  4. Approval of the amended Manitoba Museum By-Laws to reflect the following:                  
    • INDIGENOUS GOVERNORS: The Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada’s 94 Calls to Action called on all sectors in Canada to adopt and implement the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (the “Declaration”) as a framework for reconciliation, and therefore, in keeping with the fundamental principle of self-determination underpinning the Declaration, members or citizens of one or more Indigenous groups, communities, or peoples consistent with the Indigenous Governors Policy, and with priority given to members or citizens of Indigenous groups, communities, or peoples located in the Province of Manitoba, shall be Governors of the Board; and                                            
    • Removal procedure for Elected Governors.
  5. Transacting such other business as may properly be brought before the meeting.

The AGM is open to Manitoba Museum members only.
