Eyes to the Skies

January 18, 2017 @ 7:00 pm - 9:30 pm

$125
Constellations in the Planetarium

Wednesday evenings from January 18th to February 15th from 7-9:30pm in the Planetarium at the Manitoba Museum

Having trouble telling Orion’s belt from Cassiopeia’s throne? Does looking at the night sky cause you to scratch your head in wonder? Then we have the answer for you! The Manitoba Museum is hosting a five-evening program on the basics of astronomy and navigating the night sky. Eyes to the Skies will take participants on an in-depth tour of our night sky including constellations, planets, the Moon and much, much more. No previous knowledge of astronomy needed!

Using images and video, hands-on demonstrations, handouts and the unique Digistar 5® technology of the Planetarium Star Theatre, even the most beginner of stargazers will be able to navigate the night sky like a pro by the end of this course.

Registration is now open the Winter 2017 session of Eyes to the Skies.  The cost for the five-evening Eyes to the Skies course is $125 per person ($100 for Museum members).

We also offer a one-night Telescopes 101 class for $30 per person ($25 for members). Register for both courses for only $150 per person ($120 for members). Refreshments will be served.

Both courses have a maximum of 25 participants so register early to avoid disappointment!

For more information, contact instructor Mike Jensen at [email protected] or you can register for these courses by contacting our Registration Coordinator at 204-988-0626 or email [email protected].

NOTE: The Manitoba Museum reserves the right to cancel the courses due to low registrations. Prices may change without notice.
