General admission to the Museum Galleries, Planetarium, and Science Gallery is free on First Fridays. Special thanks to our event sponsors, Alsham Food Market, and Dolce Bake Shop Ltd.
The story of Alsham Food Market:
Khaldoun immigrated to Canada in 2007. He quickly felt how hard it was to find the Middle Eastern specialty products he knows and loves. So in 2012, Khaldoun opened Alsham Food Market. Khaldoun built his business from the ground up and grew the business over the past 10 years through word of mouth. Last year, Khaldoun and his wife Reem decided to expand Alsham into a catering and takeout restaurant specializing in foods from the Middle East. They couldn’t have made it this far without the support of their family, friends, and community. They can’t thank you enough!
The story of Dolce Bake Shop
Dolce Bake Shop is a local family-owned and operated bakery specializing in wedding cakes, European pastries, and many other delicious treats that will leave you craving for more. Dolce Bake Shop opened its first location in Transcona in 2012 to delight you with its wide variety of European and South American baked goods such as pastries, cookies, cakes, cupcakes and so much more. Dolce Bake Shop also offers espresso drinks made with fresh ground coffee. Over the years they’ve continued to grow thanks to the continued support of their community and have opened a second location on St. Mary’s Rd.
Roberto Galli, Pastry Chef & Owner is of Italian heritage, and his wife is Spanish, but they were both raised in Argentina. They moved to Canada over a decade ago, and they have been a part of the community for many years. Together with their family, they decided to share his great experience and background, bringing you a vast range of high quality and traditional homemade products baked daily in this unique, warm place.
