Chasing the Northern Lights: The Sagas, Science and Spectacles of the Aurora with Alan Dyer

May 12, 2018 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

Join us on Saturday May 12, at 1pm for a FREE, exclusive presentation from Astronomy author and astrophotographer, Alan Dyer! In celebration of Manitoba Day and our Planetarium’s 50th Anniversary, experience – Chasing the Northern Lights: The Sagas, Science and Spectacles of the Aurora.

Few sky sights can compare with the Northern Lights for spectacle. Many people now place seeing the Lights on the top on their bucket list. Fortunately, Manitoba is well-placed for seeing the aurora. In a talk richly illustrated with his own images of the aurora, Alan tours us through the “how, what, when, and where” of seeing the Northern Lights, from home and from far northern sites.
