In 1806, John Fubbister enlisted with the Hudson’s Bay Company as a labourer. A year and a half later, he revealed his true identity, causing uproar within the company. Using historical documents, such as journal entries, census records, and artifacts, students act as historians to unravel the mysterious identity of a seemingly ordinary Scottish labourer and consider the consequences of his deceit.
