Company of Adventurers (HBC)

Starting with a big picture perspective, students gain an appreciation for how and why the fur trade period is as significant for us today as it was for the people who lived it. The Hudson’s Bay Company (HBC) Gallery tour takes students from a trapper’s base camp, to beaver hat making. An examination of artifacts engages students in thinking about how, not only objects were traded, but how ideas and technologies were exchanged between Europeans and First Nations.
