Noteworthy Public Archaeology

A number of events have occurred this past year that are noteworthy. The book Pisim finds her Misknaow won a public commnunications award from the Canadian Archaeological Association in May 2014. This national award recognizes archaeology publications that engage the general public.

Kevin Brownlee obtained his Master’s Degree in Anthropology from the University of Manitoba. He was hired as the Curator of Archaeology at the Manitoba Museum in 2003. His research focuses on the archaeology of Manitoba’s boreal forest and the emerging filed of indigenous archaeology.
